Progress Report - February
Work is proceeding well at the Harry’s Hydro site adjacent to Critchill School. The site has been excavated and the foundations were lain last Friday. All work is on schedule for completion in the autumn.
The trustees awarded the contract to Westcountry Leisure Spa and Pool Services Ltd, a specialist pool and hydrotherapy building company. In a cunning plan to make communications a breeze, the director, site manager and foreman are all called Mark. When the log building arrives, there will be another two Marks involved... All suggestions for an appropriate sketch on a postcard, please.

Frome needs you!
“The idea behind this project was to improve the quality of people's lives in Frome, based on our experience with our son Harry,” says Digby Fox, trustee and Harry’s dad. The trustees are now asking the local community to man their collecting tins, dive out of planes, bake cakes and join forces to raise the final few thousand to make this a facility Frome can be proud of.
“It feels like we can see the top of this mountain. It’s an inspiring feeling, in a let’s-roll-our-sleeves-up-and-crack-on sort of way…” says Paula, “Now we’re asking everyone to join us on the final ascent. We’ve raised the £300,000 for the build but now need to raise £25,000 for equipment”.
Since announcing the imminent start of the build in the Somerset Standard, the Trustees have had a tremendous response from the public, with offers of help in various areas, including one generous offer of funding for some of the specialist equipment.
The Trustees are still looking for financial assistance or assistance in kind with various items. These include the car park and site works once the building is finished, and for financial assistance with specialist sensory equipment in the pool. Other miscellaneous items such as an alarm system need additional funds. Volunteers with specialist physiotherapy or hydrotherapy experience would be welcomed.
